We talk a lot about Team Blackbullion, but who exactly are we?!
In this new ‘Building Blackbullion’ series, we’re going to take you behind the scenes and introduce you to some of the team so you can get to know us a little better. Hopefully, this will help you understand what we do each day to make sure that we’re not only empowering young people to develop financial skills for life, but also helping university staff to support students’ financial wellbeing too.
First up, meet one of the members of Team Marketing.
Tell us your name and what your role at Blackbullion is.
Hey! My name’s Rosie and I’m the Product Marketing Manager at Blackbullion. I’ve been here since September 2020.
What does your role consist of?
My job is to spread the word about Blackbullion and what our platform does. We want everyone to know we’re championing financial wellbeing and on a mission to empower students with the financial skills and confidence to create a money-smart future! It’s up to me to get this message out there in the world.
I communicate this through a number of ways and in my role, I mainly focus on spreading the word to university and college staff. Some of the ways I do this are by creating new blogs and downloadable resources, sending email newsletters, sharing updates on our social media accounts, and running events and webinars.
My role is very varied and really no two days are the same!
How does Marketing work at Blackbullion?
In the Marketing team, we have two separate communities that we communicate with; the first is students and the second is staff.
We listen closely to both groups and often ask for feedback to make sure that everything we do is as helpful as can be for the people we’re doing it for – like the blogs and resources we produce and the events and webinars we run.
We also make sure to communicate updates to our Financial Wellbeing Platform and Funds Management System to both students and staff, since our platform is constantly evolving based on user feedback.
It’s really important that we share all the latest developments with the people who are already using it, as well as making sure those who aren’t currently users know about Blackbullion and understand the impact our platform can have for them.
What’s the best piece of money advice you’ve received?
To build an emergency fund that could tide you over for 3-6 months if needed and make sure it’s easily accessible.
Tell us an interesting fact about you.
I once danced for the Queen!
And finally, what’s your favourite thing about working at Blackbullion?
Helping today’s students build the financial knowledge and confidence that I could have done with myself when I was at university.
We hope you enjoyed getting a bit of an insight into the people behind the product. We’ll be back soon, speaking with another member of the team! Make sure to sign up to our staff newsletter to get all our latest blogs, news and resources to share with students.
