For the final webinar of our CPD-accredited Autumn Staff Training Series, we were joined by Pete Quinn, Diversity and Inclusion Consultant, who led a session focusing on how students with neurodiverse profiles can face extra challenges with university life and their financial wellbeing.
Pete chaired a discussion with three student experts by experience: Shaunna Devine, Bethany Donaghy & Laura Southward. All contributed to a fantastic discussion on the additional barriers faced by neurodivergent students, along with the best things staff can do to help this group of students thrive.
The session explored:
- What the terms “neurodiversity” and “neurodivergence” mean, and how they are different
- How neurodivergent students can face extra challenges at university and with their personal finance
- The best strategies for staff to help neurodivergent students manage their studies and their money
