National Scholarships Week is back, and in 2024, the week will be dedicated to transforming the perception of scholarships in the UK. Our goal is for scholarships to be viewed as something

to strive for. It is time to move away from the UK’s stigma that scholarships are ‘hand-outs’ rather than prestigious opportunities that have been earned.

Why our supporters believe in National Scholarships Week 2024:

“The cost of living crisis is the new reality for students with only 3% believing they have enough money. To ensure that the UK continues to be a world class knowledge economy we need more creative and effective ways to address this. Blackbullion’s National Scholarship Week is an opportunity to celebrate the innovative companies and organisations helping to improve educational opportunities for students across the country.

Blackbullion is on a mission to reach £50m of new funding to ensure that access to education should never be a barrier to success and we encourage corporate Britain to join the movement.”

Vivi Friedgut, CEO & Founder of Blackbullion

“Students are facing growing financial pressures during their studies. The cost of living has risen, while maintenance loans have not. This situation is bad for all of us. We need students to be able to successfully complete their courses because we all need a pool of successful graduates to drive the economy and deliver essential public services. National Scholarships Week is a fantastic initiative, and the businesses who step up to support students stand to reap real benefits by developing links with talented future graduates. It’s a classic win-win, and I am pleased to support it.”

Vivienne Stern, CEO of Universities UK

Why scholars believe in National Scholarships Week 2024:

“Investing in people, whether monetarily or with time, always goes a long way… they have created this chain of goodness, then that allows someone like me to go and create goodness for someone else”

Tsveta, 2nd Year, BSc Computer Science, University of York

“I found it quick and easy applying with Blackbullion as they have all the information you need for each section outlining what you’d need to add in your answers so that your application can move forward smoothly. This scholarship means everything to me; it has validated all my experiences and hard work to get here. It has also shown me that I am capable of anything if I put my mind to it. I hope that any young woman wanting to go into STEM is inspired to follow her dreams and keep moving forward!”

Tina, Undergraduate student, BSC Computing, University of Essex
