We’re excited to share that Blackbullion’s National Scholarships Week 2025 will focus on building young people’s confidence: encouraging students from all backgrounds to ask themselves, “Why not you?”

Far too often, we hear from students that they didn’t apply for scholarships for which they are eligible, because they felt that it couldn’t happen for them. For some, they worry that they’re somehow lacking something. It could be qualifications, work experience, or something more personal. For others, it’s difficult to discuss why they need support – and they worry about judgement from funders and their peers if they share their story.

That needs to change.

At Blackbullion, we believe that each and every student has an amazing journey that deserves to be heard.

So in 2025, we want to encourage all students to push past their “imposter syndrome” – to realise their potential and find the funding to support their goals. And when they encounter a setback, to learn and keep going.

To help make that dream a reality, we’re aiming to make this year’s National Scholarships Week the biggest yet. Together with organisations like you, we want to launch £1.5 million in new scholarship funding during 31 March to 4 April 2025. These scholarships will help lift students, all over the UK, out of financial hardship so they can reach their potential, complete their degrees, and open doors that were previously closed.

Jon Hering, Head of Commercial at Blackbullion, said: “For too long, students in the UK have been cornered by rising tuition fees, increasing costs of living, and a struggling economy. Worse: a cultural stigma around financial aid and scholarships. We want to change that. In the USA, over $7.4 billion is awarded annually to students – allowing young people from all backgrounds to access education. Blackbullion’s National Scholarships Week is helping to change the conversation in the UK, showing the amazing opportunities out there.

“We’re thrilled to be working with our headline sponsor, Amazon, to make this the best National Scholarships Week yet!”

Blackbullion created National Scholarships Week to unite organisations committed to driving social change with scholars aspiring to fulfil their true potential. Last year, we launched more than £800,000 of scholarships and funding opportunities during National Scholarships Week.
