This month, the UK Business Angel Investment Association (UKBAA) held their annual award ceremony in Liverpool and – we’re proud to say – our very own CEO Vivi Friedgut was right there. Vivi was nominated for ‘Best Investment in a High Growth Female Founder’.
UKBAA is the national association representing angel and early stage investment for young companies, and is part of a £1.5 billion EIS investment market in the UK.
The #UKBAAwards themselves are held to recognise the high growth and success of the UK’s fastest growing brands. Now in their 14th year, the awards certainly have a sense of prestige and Vivi was both excited and inspired just to be there on the night.

We’re massively proud to say that on the night itself, Vivi won the ‘One to Watch’ award, congratulations Vivi!
Vivi was presented the award by Alex Sleight, Investment Director of Newable Private Investing, with the judges stating that Blackbullion was ‘enabling young people to have control over their finances, reducing drop-out and personal stress over debt’ and that the Angel investment had ‘enabled Vivi and her team to support growth and product development’.
Absolutely delighted to win “one to watch” in the “best investment in a high growth female entrepreneur” category at @UKBAngels dinner last night. Super proud of my amazing team at @Blackbullion!

On the award itself, Vivi stated:
“It is gratifying to see the sector recognising the great work done by female founders – an historically underrepresented group in the startup space. Blackbullion is a diverse company by design. We believe that only by being diverse can we hope to truly serve the clients and students we work with, who after all, come from a broad range of places and backgrounds. We’re so proud that the work we are doing is being recognised by our peers and while we are all pursing different goals we all share the ambition to ensure that young people everywhere have the best opportunities in life, especially financially!
And of course, congratulations to Kim Nilsson at Pivigo who won the award!”
